The new champion said she was planning to get a tattoo to celebrate — as well as treat herself to some beer.
“I don’t know what but I made a bet with my coach that if I win a grand slam he has to get one too. I think we’re going to go tomorrow .Jabeur said defeat was the “most painful” of her career. “This is very, very tough and I’m going to look ugly in the photos, so it’s not going to help,” she said. “I think this is the most painful loss of my career.
“First I want to say congratulations to Marketa and her team for this amazing tournament. Amazing player and you’ve had a lot of injuries, so I’m very happy for you.“It’s going to be a tough day for me today, but I’m not going to give up. I’m going to come back stronger and win a grand slam one day. “I want to thank my team for always believing in me and we are going to make it one day, I promise you. Thank you for cheering for me. The energy here is amazing. I really appreciate your support. It’s been a tough journey but that’s tennis.
