Tasmanian voters are mixed about a Voice to Parliament as pre-polling heats up in the must-win state.
With just over a week to go until the referendum on October 14 - the day Australia decides on whether to enshrine on an Indigenous Voice to Parliament in the constitution - many are arriving at pre-polling centres to cast their vote.
One man said he was voting Yes, as a Voice would not affect 99 per cent of Australians. Pre-polling has kicked off in Tasmania - a state considered crucial in the lead up to the referendum as it needs the backing of at least four states in order to pass.
"This should be above politics. This isn't a radical proposal... it's a mainstream proposal. I sincerely hope that Australians vote Yes," Mr Albanese said.

The letter comes after attorney general Elise Archer is reconsidering her decision to step down from parliament. Ms Archer resigned on Friday amid a series of allegations of bullying within her own office and a leaked text message scandal.
