“If you weren’t one of the people who voted for it, others around you did and everyone seems satisfied – there’s no going back, it’s now law and the sky hasn’t fallen in,” he said. Support for the Coalition pledge of net zero by 2050, with a 26 to 28 per cent emissions reduction target for 2030 and a 35 per cent forecast, fell to 11 per cent from 16 per cent in January.
