Labor’s primary vote has dropped three points in NSW since July’s poll to 30 per cent, while the Coalition fell two per cent to 38 as the Greens and One Nation both gained a point. Monday’s result puts Labor more than three per cent below its 2022 election result where it garnered 33.38 per cent of the vote in NSW and nabbed 26 seats.
Labor’s position here remained unchanged from the last state and demographic Newspoll as it trailed the Coalition in NSW by two points, while it dropped two per cent in Victoria to sit at 52-48 in the party's favour. The latest Newspoll figure comes as Labor is behind in four marginal seats in NSW, an inside source revealed to Sky News’ Political Editor Andrew Clennell.
“You could see another Green winning because of the housing and rent situation, you could see an independent winning a surprise result,” he said.
