Energy Minister Angus Taylor says it's clear the voters of Eden-Monaro have shown very "strong support" for the government, the Prime Minister and the local candidate Fiona Kotvojs. The Eden-Monaro by-election has come down to a knife’s edge with the result expected to be determined by more than 40,000 pre-polls. The vast electorate was at the forefront of the bushfire crisis earlier this year, and continues to suffer from drought and the coronavirus pandemic.

“What is very clear is there has been a very strong swing in primary votes against Labor, three per cent, towards us,” Mr Taylor told Sky News. “A very good result for Fiona Kotvojs and the Prime Minister. “And a very strong endorsement of our focus on the virus, on jobs, on making sure Australia is in a string position when we come out of this.
