NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said a 15-year old allegedly acted with a “degree of premeditation” in the stabbing of a Christian leader in Sydney.

The scene outside Christ the Good Shepherd Church where Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was stabbed last night.Mr Minns convened a late-night meeting of religious and community leaders in a bid to quell the escalating violence outside the church, and also put the local Liverpool hospital – where the cleric was treated – into lockdown for a period overnight.
The cleric is a leader of an ultra-conservative sect of the Assyrian orthodox church. The incident prompted a crowd of hundreds who had seen the horrifying scenes via the YouTube livestream to flock to the church in anger.
