The 'College2Career' program will train recent college graduates to quickly become store managers
The company introduced theUnder the new program, those who have graduated college within the past 12 months will partner with company leaders to learn how to run a Walmart store.
“We see the emerging coach role as an additional pipeline to develop high-potential talent into future store managers,”At the conclusion of the program, top performers are offered the newly-created management job of “emerging coach” — with a starting wage of at least $65,000 a year.The position’s average salaryThe initiative is available to current Walmart workers, and the company will accept about 1,000 applicants into the program.
Walmart is the largest private employer in the United States with approximately 1.6 million employees nationwide.
