Warner Bros. TV has suspended overall deals with A-list producers including Greg Berlanti, Chuck Lorre and more

After the Writers Guild of America officially authorized a strike in May 2023, many TV shows were affected as a result. Writers and studios attempted to reach a new wage agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers in April 2023 before the WGA contract expired.

SAG-AFTRA’s negotiating committee recently offered an update on where they stand with the studios as the strikes continue. The dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes resulted in almost every production pressing pause — not including the movies that have received approval to keep filming. Hollywood came to a standstill in May 2023 when the Writers Guild of America announced their decision to strike after a labor dispute with the Alliance of Motion.

“Unfortunately, as we’ve seen from the recent news out of the WGA negotiations, it appears the AMPTP is still unwilling to make the concessions necessary to make a fair deal that would bring the strikes to a close,” an August 27 statement read. “We have been ready, willing and able to continue bargaining with them and we very much want the AMPTP to come back to the table.”
