Sydney superstar Chad Warner and brother Corey had to be separated by new coach Dean Cox during a fiery altercation at training on Friday. The AFL shared a series of photos of the two siblings wrestling with each other as Cox tried to get between them. AFL Media reports Corey, the younger of the two brothers, took exception to some heavy contact from Chad and reacted. Cox was nearby and quickly came in with the scuffle lasting only a few seconds. The brothers were then seen laughing it off.
Chad enters this year with plenty of speculation surrounding his future. The 23-year-old is out of contract at the end of 2025 and has already purchased a house in his home state of Western Australia. Cox has labelled Warner’s retention a “top priority”, but it will be hard to fend off the likely monster offers from West Coast and Fremantle.
