The broadcaster will close down a popular channel for good at the beginning of September with bosses stating the move is due to the channel becoming 'unprofitable'.
In a matter of days a popular ITV channel will close down for good, the broadcasting giant has confirmed.
However, the launch of the new kids streaming service will allow the broadcaster to move with the times and meet new audience needs. Previously ITV has been accused of failing to invest in younger viewers, and in turn failing to build brand loyalty from a young age, reports Birmingham Live. The average time a child spends watching TV has decline by 62 per cent in the past three years, according to statistics from ITV.Explaining the ITVX Kids service, ITV said: “The Kids ITVX homepage, accessed within a child-safe ITVX Kids profile, will bring together over 100 brilliant titles in a dedicated homepage, with over 1000 hours of programming to choose from, a near doubling of the current offer, with curated rails and collections.
