Warren Spence has appeared in court
A man will stand trial accused of murder after the body of Sam Varley was found at a property in Harehills last week.
Mr Spence, of no fixed abode, was told he would next appear for a plea, trial and preparation hearing on March 19. A provisional trial date was set for July 29, with Recorder of Leeds Judge Guy Kearl saying it could take an estimated ten days.The judge told Mr Spence: "Mr Spence, what I have been doing is setting an outline of a timetable towards your trial for the murder...
"So that gives you some idea of the process which the court is now about to embark upon." Mr Spence was remanded into custody until the next hearing on March 19.
