Tohu Harris, captain of the New Zealand Warriors, has been forced to retire due to a persistent wrist injury.
The Warriors have announced that their captain Tohu Harris has been medically retired due to a debilitating wrist injury. Harris, who was restricted to 14 games last season after post-season surgery failed to fix the issue, stated that he cannot continue playing due to persistent pain affecting both his everyday life and his football performance. He expressed gratitude to the Warriors for the opportunities and support provided during his tenure.
This retirement follows that of fellow Kiwi veteran Shaun Johnson, leaving Andrew Webster's squad with a significant loss of experience. Harris, who debuted with the Storm in 2013 and joined the Warriors in 2018, concludes his career with 234 NRL appearances. Warriors coach Andrew Webster praised Harris's talent and dedication, while CEO Cameron George acknowledged the impact of this retirement on the club and its fans
