WASPI women's compensation verdict due as crucial court decision looms
Millions of women who lost on thousands of pounds through the state pension age increase will soon hear the decision of an investigation into Government failures.
However, the failures to properly notify meant that some only found out months before they thought they were due to retire and had to find more or new work. The report from the PHSO could end up recommending an award of compensation thanks to pressure from the the Women Against State Pension Inequality campaign. As a result of the failed notifications, hundreds of thousands of women were unaware that they couldn't retire when they originally planned, Leicester Mercury reports.
When WASPI will get their verdict WASPI's judicial review case is currently listed for a brief court hearing today, May 11 to review the agreed settlement that will lead to reconsideration of the Stage 2 and Draft Stage 3 Ombudsman reports. Possibly this will be cancelled by the Court and the Order quashing the Stage 2 report will be made without a hearing, however.
