House Republican leadership is holding a press conference hours after Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) offered a motion to vacate House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

A vote on the motion to vacate is expected to come during the first series of votes by the House of Representatives on Tuesday. Gaetz's motion came after McCarthy pushed forward a 45-day stopgap bill over the weekend to avoid a government shutdown, with the Florida Republican accusing the speaker of making a"Ukraine deal with Democrats" to pass aid for the country at a later date.
