Opposition leader Peter Dutton is delivering his budget reply speech at 7.30pm on Thursday in what will double play as an attack on Labor's policy priorities and a layout of the Coalition's own agenda in the lead up to a fast-approaching Federal Election.

Peter Dutton will tonight deliver the Opposition 's reply to the 2024 Budget Treasurer Jim Chalmers handed down on Tuesday, with the Coalition leader set to announce a massive policy pledge to cut immigration and take Labor to task on its high-spending plans. Watch live on SkyNews.com.au from 7.30pm. Opposition leader Peter Dutton is delivering his budget reply speech at 7.

Despite calling on Labor to do more do help struggling households amid soaring costs, the opposition argued the budget's stage 3 tax cuts, $300 energy bill rebate, and other support measures would only fuel inflation further and set the economy back in years of deficits.on Wednesday the budget was a"cash splash" which Labor simply calibrated to appease voters, arguing it would directly lead to more interest rate rises, higher CPI, deeper fiscal debt, and disadvantage businesses.

In his Thursday speech, he is likely to attack the government primarily on the areas of migration and housing, and climate change and energy policy. Migration, however, will be the centrepiece of the Coalition's agenda given its repeat past criticisms of Australia's growing migrant intake and subsequent housing shortages under Labor.
