WATCH: RepLeeZeldin teases Florida's ‘about to lose best real estate agent’ in NY GovKathyHochul

Zeldin, who vacated his congressional seat to challenge Democratic incumbent Kathy Hochul, said he believes he can get at least 30% of the Democratic vote.

“There are Democrats who feel like the party has gone too far left,” Zeldin told Fox News host Sean Hannity Tuesday. “There are Democrats who want safe streets. They oppose congestion pricing. They oppose COVID vaccine mandates. There’s a reason why New Yorkers are heading down to Florida.”Zeldin touted the freedom Floridians have experienced under Gov. Ron DeSantis.

“They see that Gov. DeSantis down in Florida respects freedom,” Zeldin said. “He’s reversed that tax on wallets, on safety. He is someone who is welcoming businesses, individuals, and families to have an American dream down there. The bad news for Gov. Ron DeSantis is that he’s about to lose his best real estate agent, who will be fired a week from today,” referencing Hochul.

DeSantis said the difference between the current policies of New York and those of Florida is that the taxpayer is not looked after and respected.“I want all our states to do well,” DeSantis said. “The fact of the matter is, from crime to fiscal mismanagement to COVID restrictions, New Yorkers got it wrong. Lee Zeldin will get it right. And I think that’ll be better for our country if he’s elected governor.
