A 95-year-old lady has been taken to hospital after being struck in the face by water balloons thrown at the car she was in in West Belfast.
Frances McAnulty had been out for a walk with her family in The Falls Park on Wednesday afternoon, before travelling home with them. It was then that a crowd of young people threw water balloons at the car she was travelling in, near the Whiterock Leisure Centre.Sinn Féin councillor Michael Donnelly said it showed that what seemed like "harmless fun" could actually be very dangerous."Those involved were between the ages of roughly 11/13. This photo is the actions of this 'harmless fun'. The poor woman is in the hospital this evening in a terrible state.
He went on to ask for parents of the young people to ensure that they understood how much harm they could do to the vulnerable."Here is the consequences of actions like this. For those involved, this lady deserves a sincere apology.
