Ms Andrea, who runs the hairdresser with her sister Sophie Andreou, said: “It’s so rewarding to have customers for so long, it feels like family to us.”Joy is the shop's oldest customer at 87.She explained the shop has customers who come in every Friday for their blow dry “and have got to know each other over the years and have a chat”.
It’s these customers that Ms Andrea believes have been a big help to the salon during the cost-of-living crisis.She said: “It’s incredible. The older generation do not miss their appointment. Come rain or snow they are here every week.” And while she has noticed a drop in the younger generation going regularly, the Market Street location has helped the business grow with passing trade.The name of the shop might throw people, but it is rooted in its first location of Wembley when the sisters’ father had a hairdresser there 60 years ago, which has now closed.
But the fun will not stop with this party. The sisters plan to hold another celebration next year to mark the 10-year anniversary of being in their second Watford location.
