Watsonville police investigators closed off some streets in the Santa Cruz County city on Saturday in the wake of a fatal shooting at that location.

Detectives were called to the scene of a fatal shooting near the corner of Main Street and Rodriguez Street in Watsonville, the Police Department stated on its Facebook page.

“At about 6:04 p.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Rodriguez Street, where they found a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound,” the police web post said.Information about a possible suspect or suspects associated with the fatal shooting was not immediately available, police said.

Police closed the area at and near Rodriguez Street and Main Street Saturday night, investigators said.
