Queensland's Health Minister wants Tuesday's federal budget to include a 50:50 split for public health funding, equating to an extra $1.5 billion a year — saying she's not the only state minister making the call.
The Queensland government is calling on the Morrison government to commit to a 50-50 funding model for public health in this week's federal budget.

"We can't control the growth in demand because [of] failures in the primary and allied healthcare system and the Medicare system. "We don't see that as a significant investment when they've announced $70 billion in additional public funding since December," Mr Dick said.
