"It's been really nerve-racking, especially when my six-year-old went back to school and we knew she could get exposed to COVID," she said. ACT Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith said 1,000 children had already registered for a vaccine by midday Monday. "Canberrans have been really good and have stepped up and showed they care about children like Ella who are more vulnerable," she said.
