Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus demands men “step up” and educate themselves, as the number of women killed in violent incidents across the nation this year reached 24.

Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus will call out a crisis of male violence in Australia and demand that men step up to prevent it, after the number of women killed in violent incidents so far this year reached 24, including five in a stabbing rampage at Sydney’s Bondi Junction last weekend.

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said he seemed to be focused on attacking women and avoiding men as he struck victims in the shopping centre. “We have to be prepared to speak out about these issues. We have to be prepared to talk to our friends and people we know. We have to be prepared to call out behaviour that we see when it’s unacceptable.”
