More than 300,000 former members of the Israeli Defence Force from across the globe are preparing to rejoin their military units in Israel. Around 180 reservists flew from the US over the weekend to join the fight in Gaza. Some of these soldiers could be sent into Gaza as soon as next week.

The flight was charted by Israel Friends, a group of Jewish Americans who have raised more than $6 million to get these reservists to Tel Aviv. Israel Friends Co-Founder Jordan Fried told Sky News Australia, “Hamas is a terrorist organisation that is killing Jewish people – we have to go back and defend Israel”.
