Sussan Ley has admitted the Liberals did not receive the support of women at this year's Federal Election as she pledged to be a 'strong voice' for the cohort.
Newly elected deputy Liberal leader Sussan Ley has told Australian women"we hear you" after the party suffered an electoral wipeout on May 21.
"I will continue to be a strong voice for women," she said at a press conference shortly after being elected into the role. "We know that we didn't receive the support of all women at the last election, and my message to the women of Australia is we hear you.Ms Ley said the Liberals would analyse the results of the election by looking at either each booth or community. She said the women in her New South Wales electorate of Farrer were"generally happy" with the then-government.
The former home affairs minister then issued a message to colleagues who had refused to accept the issue and urged the party to review how to win back the lost votes.
