As shelling continued across the country and Russia claimed it had control of the city of Kherson, Mr Zelenskyy called on Ukrainians to keep up their resistance. In a video address to his nation, the Ukraine President said Russian forces would receive no peace or rest while they were in his country."They will have no peace here. They will have no food. They will have here not one quiet moment.The President was also quoted in a social media post published by Ukraine's Ministry of Defence."No-one will be conquered," he said."They will be destroyed everywhere.
Russian President Vladimir Putin's forces claimed to have taken complete control of the Black Sea port. If true, it would be the biggest city to fall yet in the invasion."Our view is that Kherson is very much a contested city," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.Mr Zelenskyy’s office told The Associated Press that it could not comment on the situation in Kherson while the fighting was still going on.
The Ukrainian President said the fighting was taking a toll on the morale of Russian soldiers, who "go into grocery stores and try to find something to eat"."These are confused children who have been used.""Ukraine doesn't want to be covered in bodies of soldiers," Mr Zelenskyy said.In his speech, Mr Zelenskyy said the Russian death toll had reached about 9,000.
