Hot. Cross. Bun. Cheese. 🧐
I could quite comfortably live solely off of hot cross buns and cheese. But never did I expect to eat the two combined.
But upon closer inspection, I saw that this was no ordinary cheese, it was a hot cross bun flavoured cheese. The round of cheese, created by a local dairy in Goosnargh is filled with the exact same currents and fruits you'd find sprinkled into a bun, traditionally eaten around this time of year. As I unwrapped it, I expected to be hit with a pungent smell of weird cheese, the smell of cheese was definitely there but there was no hint of hot cross bun at all. In fact I think I was slightly gutted to not get a waft of hot cross bun goodness. But then again, it is cheese and not the real thing itself.
One bite in and I no longer knew how to feel. Do I like this? Is this right? Should I continue eating? The tough questions swirled around in my head. Meanwhile the combination of cheese and sultanas swirled in my mouth, allowing me to come to the conclusion, it wasn't for me.
