“Western Australia has to date been largely immune from the supply and price shocks we have seen on the east coast and internationally, through a combination of natural advantages and stable policy settings,” she said. O’Neill said more industry taxes weren’t the answer for the global energy crunch, highlighting Woodside had paid more than $2 billion in tax this year alone. She also called on the government to better support lower-carbon solutions, just weeks after the private sector was told it would have to go the energy transition alone and stripped $250 million in carbon capture grants from the budget.
