Tom McCartin is still suffering the lingering effects of a head-high bump in the Sydney derby and won’t play against Carlton on Friday night.
John Longmire insists the Swans hold no major concerns over Tom McCartin’s wellbeing or future in the game after the Sydney defender was ruled out for a second week with concussion-related symptoms.
On Monday, he said McCartin would not play against Carlton, despite the fact he would be out of the AFL’s concussion protocols and available for selection by Friday, and was not sure whether he would be able to play the following week. Parker, who stepped down as a co-captain over the summer, missed the start of the season with a broken arm and has had to bide his time since recovering, with his teammates firing and the Swans a game clear on top of the AFL ladder after five wins in a row.
