The scorching temperatures have wreaked havoc across Britain, with train services buckling and roads melting. “We simply can’t cope with the number of fires across our city directly attributable to the heat wave we’re experiencing,” Khan told Sky News.Getty Images “All our staff are extremely busy trying to help Londoners. Our call handlers took 6600 calls yesterday,” it said on Twitter.
