Hundreds gather to honour the victims of a mass shooting that killed 29 people, while the stories of Thais who sheltered those fleeing the massacre help mourners begin to grieve.
Emergency Services volunteer Ponawat Boonchit, 34, helped casualties who the gunman had shot at a nearby Buddhist temple."I prevented the school children who were in front of the [nearby] school [from being shot]," he said."Then I was helping them to hide in alleys around the area to keep them away."Mass shootings are rare in Thailand, and locals in the city 250 kilometres north-west of Bangkok are deeply affected by the violent incident.
Nakhon Ratchasima, also known as Korat, is a city of 200,000 people but is based in a rural province, and locals say it's known for its peaceful way of life.
