have not been able to confirm whether a tornado touched down in Central New Jersey late Tuesday afternoon during a rare February thunderstorm outbreak. But they are focusing their attention mostly on Mercer County, where downed trees, downed electrical wires and damaged cars have been reported by residents.
The weather service’s Mount Holly office said it received a report of a possible tornado in West Windsor, with a “tree and wires on top of a car on Quakerbridge Road with a person trapped.”The is one of several large trees that were uprooted in West Windsor, Mercer County, during a strong thunderstorm Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 21, 2023. There were unconfirmed reports of a tornado. This tree blocked the front door of a house on Conover Road.
That damage reportedly occurred near Quakerbridge Road in the Princeton Junction section of West Windsor Township.
