Major events for Australia's returning Olympic athletes are set to go ahead in two major capitals.
NSW Premier Chris Minns has confirmed that Sydney will hold a celebration for returning Australian Olympians at Tumbalong Park.
Minns spoke to 2GB's Ben Fordham today and confirmed the Sydney event would take place about mid-day on September 13. "We're looking forward to doing just that on the 13th of September when all the Olympians and Paralympians are back in town." Lord Mayor Nick Reece said it could take a number of forms, including a street party in Bourke Street Mall.
