Apiarists have worked to protect hundreds of beehives during the recent fire emergency in Western Australia. Local honey producers are experiencing significant losses as a critical bee habitat has been destroyed. Bushfires in the region are expected to result in the loss of hundreds of tonnes of honey, with potential million-dollar damages. The fire has impacted about 80 apiary sites, turning flourishing vegetation into uninhabitable zones for bees.
