Premier Mark McGowan revealed health authorities are unlikely to track down 16 close contacts who attended the Perth Mess Hall event after they provided false or misleading information.
The second infection did not attend the event at the Perth Mess Hall but is linked to the backpacker community in the capital, Mr McGowan revealed.
The two new cases take the coronavirus cluster linked to the backpacker, who is also known as case 1,1133, to 12. Health authorities have identified 704 close contacts of the backpacker, with 54 yet to be tested for the virus.WA Police have advised that 16 of those are unlikely to be found after they provided false or misleading information.Mr McGowan also shared a photo to social media of him rolling up his sleeve for his third dose of a coronavirus vaccine.
"We know that a third dose is so important in providing protection against the new Omicron variant," he wrote.
