Thousands of Westpac customers have been left unable to access their money after the bank’s app and website crashed this morning.
More than five hours after making an initial statement on the outage services still hadn’t been restored after 3pm on Monday, with some customers growing increasingly irritated online.“Mobile and internet banking is back up and running for customers following a system issue earlier today,” a Westpac spokesperson said in a statement.
“This is not the standard of service we aim to provide our customers and we’re sorry for the inconvenience caused.” Westpac said in a statement they were experiencing “issues with Westpac Live Online and Mobile Banking” and were working to fix the issues in a statement after 10am. Customers from the bank noticed the issue this morning, with numerous users saying they’d been left stranded without any accessible cash in their account.
