Anthony Miller has been unveiled as Westpac's new CEO, starting the role on December 16.
Westpac announces the appointment of Anthony Miller as new Chief Executive Officer, replacing Peter King in December
Mr Miller, who joined Westpac in 2020 as Chief Executive of the company's Business & Wealth division, will be replacing Peter King who will be retiring from a 30-year-career at the bank including five years as CEO. “Westpac is an exceptional company that plays a profoundly important role in the lives of millions of Australians,” Mr Miller said on Monday.
Westpac chairman Steven Gregg said:"The bank's ideal CEO would be an executive who is customer-focused with a proven record of performance and a deep understanding of the Australian market".Mr Miller's remuneration package will remain the same as ex-CEO Mr King with a fixed salary of $2.5 million per annum.
Mr Miller said he is excited for this new opportunity and aspires to build on the work and contributions of Mr King.
