Brent Naden hopes to be back on the field within eight weeks despite suffering a horrific knee injury in the Wests Tigers ’ final trial. Naden was left withering in pain after dislocating his left kneecap in the Tigers’ 30-18 win over Parramatta on Friday night, following an awkward tackle at Leichhardt Oval. The Tigers centre was set to go for scans on Saturday, but the club is hopeful there’s no serious ligament damage and he can return within two months.
The 29-year-old admitted he had briefly feared the worst with a possible ACL rupture, but the initial signs were good with the knee able to go straight back in place. At the time, the NRL Physio account called it an “extremely graphic” injury. “Horrible knee injury for Brent Naden - can see clear patella dislocation but risk for other ligament injury with traumatic nature of contact. Lengthy recovery ahead, fingers crossed it’s somehow not as bad as it looks.
