Wests Tigers' star player Jarome Luai's contract includes a unique clause that allows him the option to leave after two years, stirring interest from rival clubs.
The contract of Wests Tigers star Jarome Luai includes an option that could allow him to depart after just two seasons. Luai’s five-year deal, worth $6 million, is guaranteed for the first two years but has clauses that enable Luai to leave if things don’t go as planned in the subsequent three years. This means rival clubs could start negotiations with Luai as early as November 1, 2024, for the 2027 season.
The request for player options was initially denied by former chief executive Justin Pascoe but was eventually accepted by his successor, Shane Richardson
