Wests Tigers have called time on club icon Benji Marshall.
The joint-venture confirmed Marshall will not be offered a contract for 2021 despite the playmaker still entertaining continuing his NRL career into an 18th season.
The Kiwi international has previously ruled out a move to English Super League and also has a burgeoning media career with Fox Sports awaiting him when he does hang up the boots. "As a club, we were thrilled to welcome Benji back to Wests Tigers in 2018 and to see him return in a leadership role in this part of his career," Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said"Over the past two-and-a-half years, Benji has performed as we knew he would on field but the reality with our roster management is that he will not be with Wests Tigers next year.
Marshall trained"as normal" according to teammates on Tuesday and has been named in the halves alongside Luke Brooks against Manly this week.
