There's more choice on the menu

Wetherspoon pubs in and around Nottingham are launching a range of new meals next week. Katsu curry, new burgers, salads and pubs classics will be available from Wednesday, November 2.

They will be served in Spoons across the county including The Roebuck in St James's Street, The Ernehale in Arnold and The William Peverel in Main Street, Bulwell. Katsu curry will be served in three varieties, with sliced breaded chicken escalope, sliced grilled chicken breast and a vegetarian Quorn dish with eight coated pieces. Each come with curry sauce, coconut-flavour rice, sliced chillies and coriander.

The pubs are also introducing a new 3oz burger, allowing customers the opportunity to opt for a smaller portion. The regular 6oz and 9oz burgers are still being served. All are available in four styles: American burger, classic, skinny and cheeseburger.Also new are a fried halloumi-style cheeseburger with sweet chilli sauce and a spicy heatwave burger which includes naga chilli mayo, American-style cheese and a hash brown, topped with a spicy chicken wing.

Another vegetarian option is the grilled halloumi-style cheese and roasted vegetable salad. Completing the new menu are two pub classics - bangers and mash and steak and kidney pudding. The Trent Bridge Inn pub manager, Philippa McFadden, said: “We are always keen to introduce new meals for our customers to enjoy.
