Peter Skoronski is a fascinating player to watch as we get closer to the 2023 NFLDraft. He could be OT1. What are his 4 best NFL team fits? Let's break it down.
and OT3. From a tools perspective, Skoronski is one of the strongest prospects at the position in the draft class. He has a high football IQ, excellent fundamentals and technique, effective mobility in the run game, and a variety of pass sets to counter different types of edge rushers. As a result, he allowed just six pressures on 480 pass-blocking snaps and was a unanimous All-American in 2022—the first Northwestern player ever to earn that honor.
With all of that being the case, here are the three NFL teams that I see as the best fits for Skoronski.Anyone who watched the Bears this past year knows that a big reason for quarterback Justin Fields’ outstanding production as a runner and limited production as a passer was the lack of good protection up front.
Left guard Laken Tomlinson was a turnstile all season, and whenever he wasn’t the issue, left tackles Duane Brown and George Fant were . Entering 2023, the only guys who were starting up front that seem like locks on the roster are Tomlinson—who eats up too much dead cap to get cut—and Vera-Tucker. Like the Jets, the Steelers could use a guy like Skoronski to bolster the left side of their offensive line regardless of where exactly he plays. He’d help improve the pass protection in front of quarterback Kenny Pickett and create a better, more consistent push up front for running back Najee Harris. The Steelers may not have drafted an offensive tackle in the first round since 1996 or a guard since 2012, but now is as good a time as any for Pittsburgh.
