Australia is going to extend the length of visas for certain Hong Kong residents, including students and businesses, here's what you need to know.

As of September 2019, 74 visas have been issued under the program, which was launched as a pilot scheme in July 2018.due to the recently introduced national security lawPrime Minister Scott Morrison said anyone worried about their safety could apply to come to Australia through the current humanitarian program, but Hong Kong residents wouldn't necessarily be placed ahead of those in other countries.

"With these economic incentives will also be visa pathways for all critical staff to come to Australia and have a pathway to permanent residency," he said. Details are expected to be released within weeks, but priority will be given to Hong Kong residents who apply for a Business Innovation and Investment visa.
