Who is the biggest fish that Rutgers will be watching closely on national signing day?
three weeks ago and offered the tall, athletic lineman with elite tools. Offers from Ole Miss, Syracuse, Nebraska, Maryland, Penn State, and Colorado would follow, catapulting Onoh into a four-star recruit and one of the country’s most sought-after offensive tackles still on the market.
Onoh officially visited Rutgers last weekend with his family. If the senior signs on Wednesday, the Scarlet Knights are the most likely team to earn his signature. If not, Onoh will likely earn upwards of 20 more offers between now on the next signing period which begins on Feb. 1. The schools that miss out on their top high school and transfer portal targets, and who will have a spot or two left, will take him because you can never have too much good offensive line depth.
Despite being ranked four-star, Onoh is raw but has high developmental upside. He’s athletic, explosive, can bend, and has the mean streak required to finish blocks. He also boasts strong hands, a strong punch and explosive upper body strength. Onoh also plays center on the hardwood, where he has the knack to rebound and start the break, and finish around the rim either with touch or physicality.
Onoh committed to Old Dominion University on Sept. 1 and decommitted on Thursday leading up to his Rutgers official visit which began the next day. Rutgers officially joined the race for Onoh’s services on Dec. 4.Rutgers had a big signing day event scheduled for Wednesday in the team meeting room that has since been cancelled. The team will attend the funeral of the mother of junior defensive end Aaron Lewis, who passed away on Friday.
