We're not in Hawkins anymore.
, with no details other than the simple slogan: “We’re not in Hawkins anymore.” insinuates that, like Dorothy leaving Kansas, Eleven’s adventures are about to increase in scale, and hopefully, surreality. Stranger Things, the shift in location will likely spark substantial change. The sleepy small town vibe, the bike rides through suburbia, might be replaced by a more urban aesthetic.
Season 3 neatly concluded the arcs of Hawkins’ many inhabitants, depicting Eleven joining the Bryers family and leaving the town to begin a new life. But the post-credits scene that followed teased an intriguing plot twist, showing the Russians, having built their own entrance to the Upside Down, feeding one of their prisoners to a Demogorgon.
Seeing as the Russians are keeping a faceless demon as a pet, perhaps they will prove more willing to explore the Upside Down than the Americans; the mysterious parallel universe is still relatively unexplored, and some Lovecraftian lore-building would be much appreciated. The scene also highlighted “the American,” a mysterious prisoner who most fans believe to be Jim Hopper, who might not have died during season 3. There is, however, another possibility; Eleven's other"father," Dr. Brenner, the man who raised/experimented on her in the secret facility.
Season 2 revealed Brenner to still be alive, despite his apparent death at the claws of the Demogorgon, meaning that Eleven still has good reason to use her powers. While Eleven’s telepathy had apparently faded away after the climactic battle of season 3, I think it’s safe to assume that they will soon return.is to be the last; creators Matt and Ross Duffer have often stated that they see the series lasting between four and six seasons.
