The LNP says, if elected, it will spend $50 million on nine early intervention residential programs which would operate on referrals from schools, police, child safety and parents. Mr Miles said the plan focused on early intervention and prevention and had "driven crime rates down by 6 per cent". Labor has promised to build seven new satellite hospitals if re-elected at Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Cairns, Fraser Coast, Yarrabilba, Beenleigh and Mackay. The LNP says it supports the initiative, but would rename them.Two 24-hour mental health treatment centres for young people would be built under the LNP at the cost of $50 million, with one six-bed facility at Rochampton and the other location yet to be announced.
He said he wanted funding to "hit the frontline", particularly in remote Indigenous communities, with a focus on "service delivery for First Australians".Instead Labor has committed to spending $2.7 billion to upgrade the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre , Lang Park and the Gabba.Mr Miles has criticised the opposition leader for not giving a "straight answer about what new stadium he wants to build".
The LNP says it will lift restrictions on grant recipients living in their house to allow them to rent out rooms in the initial 12 months.
