Many Indigenous Australians do not agree with this,” the essay says. “Our case informs voters of serious reservations held by those on all sides of politics, the significant risks inherent in the proposal and the divisive nature of such a massive change.”Making an emotional pitch about a “better future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and all Australians”, the Yes essay runs to 13 pages.
The essay quotes Labor senator Patrick Dodson, tennis legend Evonne Goolagong Cawley, NRL player and coach Johnathan Thurston and AFL great Eddie Betts.
