A nationwide manhunt has been launched for Daniel Abed Khalife, who escaped from prison on Wednesday morning. But who is he and what did he do?
Khalife is a former member of the Royal Signals and was based at Beacon Barracks, Beaconside, Stafford, where he is thought to have worked as a computer engineer.
It is thought he joined the army in 2018. He was discharged in May this year, four months after being charged with terror offences following an investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command. It also alleged that he breached the Official Secrets Act by acting against the “safety and interests of the state” and allegedly collecting information which would be “useful to the enemy”., a Category B prison, when he went missing in his cook’s uniform just before 8am on Wednesday.

Khalife went missing in his cook’s uniform The Metropolitan Police have described Khalife as 6ft 2ins tall, of slim build, with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a prison-issue chef’s uniform of a white t-shirt, red and white chequered trousers and brown steel toe cap boots.and to call 999 if they spot him.
