Wheel of Fortune fans are up in arms after a technicality in the game show cost a woman with the right answer an Audi.

Charlene Rubush was heading into the Bonus Round last night with $16,500 when the slight error occurred,While solving a puzzle in the “What Are You Doing?” category, the competitor first guessed “Choosing the right card.” That answer was close, but not quite right.“Choosing the right,” Rubush said, and with a beat, added: “word.”Her answer came right before the buzzer, but it was already too late. Host Pat Sajak broke the news to Rubush.

“You know, this one’s tough, because you said all the right words — including the word ‘word,’” he began. “But, as you know, it’s gotta be more or less continuous. We’ll allow for a little pause but not four or five seconds. I’m sorry. You did a good job in getting it, but we can’t give you the prize, and it was the Audi.”What a bummer! Good thing Rubush wasn’t alone in her loss, because the avid Wheel of Fortune viewers on Twitter expressed their grief.
