A Wheeling woman is being held in Cook County Jail, as of Monday, charged with robbing an Arlington Heights 7-Eleven convenience store using a golf club.
According to an Arlington Heights Police Department news release, Kathryn Orlowski, 39, of the 1500 block of Camden Court, Wheeling, was charged Friday with armed robbery with a deadly weapon – a Class X felony.Police officers responded just after 1 a.m. Friday to the 7-Eleven store at Hintz and Buffalo Grove roads following a call to 911 by the night shift clerk who reported being robbed, the release states.
The alleged robber, now identified as Orlowski, fled the store a vehicle, going northbound on BuffaloAuthorities shared a description of the robber and getaway vehicle with other patrol units, according to the release. Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove police departments share the same radio channel and officers frequently patrol the neighboring borders.
An Arlington Heights officer was traveling in the opposite direction and noticed the vehicle as well.Advertisement Authorities said in the release that the store clerk was brought to the scene of the traffic stop and positively identified Orlowski as the alleged store armed robber.Detectives determined that Orlowski acted alone in the incident, the release states.
