When is the next Scottish Parliament election? The Scottish Parliamentary elections take place every five years. As the last election was May 1, 2021, the next election is expected no later than Thursday May 7, 2026. The Scottish Elections Act 2020 set terms to five years. It decreed that the general election under Scottish Parliament is held on the first Thursday in May every five years.
